Ranks, born Dean R. Moulton is a reggae hip hop artist once signed to
rush associated/def jam records. - 1992 first record ever cut was titled Name Brand under Sasston Productions. -1994 He recorded Kill Dem All with later got him the deal with def jam. In 1995 the song made The Show soundtrack, a hip hop documentary by Russell Simmons. Kill Dem All was the B-side single to Live performed by Onyx. The soundtrack received rave reviews, topping #4 on the Billboard 200 and was the #1 r&b/hip hop album that year. -1996 Kali was back in the studio with Mrs. Lauryn Hill from the Fugees and recorded Perfect Match which is still an internet hit. In 1999 he released U Luv Money with Davone Ruff Williams and Call Me Out, off the Return of The Reelz EP. -2005 Kali was featured on Black Rob (BR) The Black Rob Report, Warrior. -2006 While working behind the scenes, appeared in Blood of a Champion. an independent film written by Lawrence Page and Bokeem Woodbine. -2009 Form Afimi Music with partner and brother Carlyle Kalief Grant. the album Higher Ranks was released. -2012 Got back in the studio with Ruff, recording Gun Down. Dropped the video and got 10,000 views the first week. -2015 Linked up with Base Camp Productions and cut the single Salute featuring Grandmaster Treez. He also record a club banger with Black Rob (BR) titled Bring Them Out, off BR latest studio album Genuine Article. Kali is currently working on his second album due out this fall. |
